Our school has been awarded the status of good in all areas by Ofsted following our inspection in June 2017.

The summary of key findings states ‘All adults provide high levels of nurture and support. Pupils are well looked after and leaders and staff make sure that pupils are safe and know how to stay safe.’

The school was praised because ‘Leaders strongly promote pupils’ spiritual, moral, social and cultural development. The school values underpin the ethos within the school’ ‘Pupils are actively encouraged to socialise at playtimes, work together in lessons and develop their appreciation of the arts and music.’

The children are particularly commended: ‘Pupils are polite, courteous and respectful. They behave well and work hard to reach the highest level of their classroom star chart.’

We are pleased that our efforts to ensure a broad and exciting learning experience were acknowledged: ‘The curriculum is enriched through visits, visitors and theme days. These provide memorable experiences for pupils. A wide range of activities available at lunchtimes and at the breakfast and after-school clubs contribute greatly to pupils’ positive attitudes towards school.’ ‘Pupils regularly design, make and paint artefacts, thus developing their creative talents.’ ‘Physical education (PE) is a particular strength and pupils benefit from the high-quality lessons and clubs provided.’ ‘Pupils readily take on additional responsibilities, such as being members of the school council. This gives pupils a voice in the school.’

It was recognised that ‘Adults provide high levels of nurture and support for all pupils’ and those with Special Educational Needs are given ‘a high level of personalised support.’
