Thank you for considering St Laurence Church Infant School for your child. This page contains information about the admissions process.

If you would like to visit us, you would be most welcome. Please contact the school office by phone or email to arrange a tour. These usually take place on Wednesday and Friday mornings at 9.45am.

General Admissions Process

Our admissions process is part of the Local Authority co-ordinated scheme. For more information, see the Birmingham City Council School Admissions web page.

The school’s admission number is 90. Where the number of applications is lower than the school’s admission number, all applicants will be admitted.

If there are more applications than places available, then all applications will be considered, together and at one time, by a committee of the Governing Body. The places will be allocated following the oversubscription criteria detailed in the relevant year’s admissions policy which can be found below:

Deferred Entry

If you are considering applying for deferred entry for your summer born child to begin Reception when they are aged five, please read the DfE guidance below.

You should apply for a Reception place in the year they are due to start school and write explaining why you are requesting this entry is deferred to the following year. Please telephone the school office if you would like more information on this process.
