Inspections
Our school was last inspected by Ofsted in November 2022, and was once again judged to be a good school.
Some of the highlights of the inspection report include:
- Leaders and staff provide pupils with a happy and safe environment in which to learn.
- The school’s curriculum reflects leaders’ high expectations for pupils.
- Pupils get on well with each other. They behave well in lessons and during break times.
- Leaders have a strong focus on developing close links between pupils’ families and the school.
- Making sure that all pupils learn to read well is a top priority for leaders.
- The curriculum and extra-curricular activities on offer are effective in supporting pupils’ personal development.

New Ofsted Inspection Judgements
There have been significant changes to the Ofsted inspection framework since our inspection. This short, three‑minute YouTube Video explains these changes clearly for parents.
The new inspection judgements set a very high standard and are not comparable to those used previously.
The biggset change is that there is no longer an overall grade, bust a series of judgements. These provide families with more insight into a school’s strengths and the quality of education than a single-word judgement ever could.
To help understand the developing national picture, we have reviewed of the outcomes from the 212 primary schools that were judged ‘Good’ at their last inspection and now have a published report under the new framework. The table below shows that, for the majority of these schools, the new judgement is ‘Expected’ across most areas.
| Area | Judgement | Exceptional | Strong | Expected | Needs Attention | Urgent Improvement |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Achievement | 0% | 15% | 60% | 25% | 0% |
| Attendance and Behaviour | 0% | 30% | 58% | 11% | 0% |
| Curriculum and Teaching | 0% | 14% | 67% | 19% | 0% |
| Early Years | 0% | 22% | 66% | 13% | 0% |
| Inclusion | 1% | 36% | 56% | 7% | 0% |
| Leadership and Governance | 0% | 22% | 68% | 9% | 0% |
| Personal Development and Wellbeing | 0% | 49% | 47% | 4% | 0% |

We also receive a Statutory Inspection of Anglican and Methodist Schools (SIAMS).
Our last inspection was in July 2018, and we were delighted that the SIAMS Inspector continued to judge us as an outstanding Church School.
Comments included: ‘This is a nurturing and inclusive Christian family community where its young pupils thrive and succeed because of the excellent pastoral care shown to both adults and children.’
